A magical evening snowshoeing under a moon lit sky by Lake Tahoe's shore.

State Park Interpreters will be leading Full Moon Guided Snowshoe Tours exploring the natural and cultural history around the Hellman-Ehrman Estate and the Lake Tahoe shoreline at Sugar Pine Point State Park.

See the park in a new light. Be prepared for our Tahoe winter nights. Don't forget your headlamps, layered clothing, water proof shoes and mittens.

For those new to snowshoeing, there will be a beginner's clinic at 6:30 pm. The Full Moon hike starts promptly at 7:00 pm near the restrooms on the Day Use side of the park (lakeside entrance, east side of Highway 89).

The program lasts approximately 1½ hours and costs $45 per person for adults. Children 12 and under are $25. It is a moderate hike uneven snow surfaces. This program is a great introduction to the sport and hobby of snowshoeing with special nighttime access to the park. This cost includes snowshoe rentals, park entrance, guided hike, and guaranteed fun! Wear warm, layered clothing and winter boots.

This event is generously sponsored by West Shore Sports, and all proceeds from the tour benefit the Sierra State Parks Foundation's educational programming.

All ticket sales are final. Please check road closures (Hwy 89) and updates as needed. Visit the CalTrans website for up to date information on the road conditions and closures at http://www.dot.ca.gov/. We will also send a courtesy email if the event has to be canceled due to extreme weather.

Registration for Sierra State Parks Foundation events and activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant to use and distribute (both now and in the future) the registrant's image or voice in photographs, videos, and electronic reproductions of such events and activities by SSPF.
