Jamie began teaching the practice of yoga in 2014. Since then, her teaching style has greatly diversified. Jamie taught at local studios in Sacramento for three years before realizing the need for community outreach yoga. Striving to make the practice of yoga more accessible, she created and led a free yoga program at Mercy Medical Group’s Cancer Center and Dignity Health Foundation’s Center of Children’s Behavioral Health. The structure of her classes emphasizes the importance of conscious movement and the use of modifications to tailor the poses to the practitioner – not the other way around. Jamie believes that yoga is a vehicle for strengthening not just the body, but also the mind and spirit.
