Join local photographer and educator Grant Kaye for a stroll around the gorgeous landscapes of Emerald Bay State Park as the sun peeks over the far Eastern mountains over beautiful Lake Tahoe. Emphasis in these "photo walk" workshops will be on improving composition through the art of "seeing." Any type of camera is welcome, including smartphones; we will concentrate not on the technical, but the artistic aspects of photography. Phone photographers should make sure they download, install, and test the Adobe Lightroom app (requires a free Adobe account). Exact meeting locations will be provided to participants a few days prior to the workshop via email. As these workshops will be conducted outdoors and will require walking over uneven ground in early morning light, participants will be required to sign and return a liability and release waiver.

This fundraiser supports and benefits the interpretative mission of the Sierra State Parks Foundation.

In the event of inclement weather (rain/snow/thunder & lightning), the workshop will be held the following day/night. Please note: cloudy skies are not inclement weather as clouds come and go. In the event of cloudy skies during a night workshop, students will be taught light paining and general night photography techniques.

A decision will be made no more than 24 hours prior to the workshop start time, and no less than 3 hours prior to the workshop start time. Students and Park administration will be notified via email.
