Conversations with History, with Dr. Helen Smith

Celebrate the 90 year-old Vikingsholm castle with a special evening at Emerald Bay State Park. Guests will be able to drive down to lake level and park on the grounds of Vikingsholm. Following an "behind the scenes" tour, guests will enjoy wine and hors d'oeuvres in the courtyard of Vikingsholm as the sun sets behind Desolation Wilderness. Dr. Helen Smith will host an informal conversation about her 14 childhood summers at Vikingsholm as a guest of castle owner Lora Knight and how those summers shaped her life and inspired her to become a park champion. Smith will also present a signed copy of her book "Vikingsholm", a guide she authored, to every guest.

Seating is limited and reservations are required. Tickets $65 (SSPF members $60)
